RIVIERA X BAARTMANS AND SIEGEL LONDON COLLECTIONS: MEN COLLABORATION

Footwear label Riviera’s partner up with Baartmans and Siegel for a presentation in conjunction with London Collections: Men last week. Exhibiting in a modern hybrid between runway and installation, the show attracted a parade of style savvy spectators. With a nod to Cuban culture, Riviera’s complimented a collection of refined lightweight tailoring with a colour pallet of soft pastel tone teamed with muted sandy hues and classic white.

Hand made in Spain these quintessential summer slip-ons have been reworked time and time again since WWII. Now taking head from Riviera’s original  1950’s deck  shoe, the marina inspired footwear is now rising to fame on beaches,  boats and bars worldwide once more. Their timeless design has endured due to its classic simplicity, lending an air of upmarket class to the simplest of shapes.

The suitably named “Cuban Crab Catchers” collection by Baartmans And Siegel boasts organic cotton knitwear, deconstructed shirts; oversized scarf’s bearing beach illustrations, conveying the coastal narrative running through the collection. Textures included a frosted croc and pearlised nappa leather, perfectly portraying the ocean’s gleam. Mint woven suits with luxe threads, paired with perforated shoes exuded the sense of off duty luxury.

Each pair of Rivieras are crafted with notably high quality materials; featuring a soft towel interior lining and a cushioned nappa leather inner sole. The outer sole has the durability of a hard wearing shoe, with a heel: rarely seen on footwear of this sort. Rendered in a breadth of shades and enhanced with a combination of textures and advanced fabrics, the SS13 collection makes Rivieras the ultimate stable to any refined gent’s wardrobe.
